Dear Parents,
Today we went to St. Mary for Ash Wednesday. I am happy to report the children did a great job in church. We also made a prayer chain that each day we will pray for someone/something that your child asked to pray for. We received a donation of finger Rosary’s. Your child will be bringing one home today as well as how to pray with it.
I am so excited about the dinosaur unit that we are doing. This week the children made themselves in to a paleontologist to hang from the ceiling as well as their own junior paleontologist badges. Tomorrow we will making their dinosaur skeleton out of pasta (thank you to all that brought some in). Next Wednesday we will be having a “museum” for the kids to display and talk about their dinosaur to the other preschool class and the kindergarten classes. You are welcome to visit the museum as well. We will be opening the doors 15 minutes early at dismissal for you to visit.
Have a great day!

Dear Parents,
I’m not sure what this weather wants to do, one day its 60 and sunny and the next we are shoveling snow. All I know is that I am ready for SPRING!
Don’t forget that this week is Dr. Seuss week to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Ms. Able, Ms. Bleile and I are having “wacky Wednesday”. On this day the children are encouraged to wear wacky, mismatched clothes. To make the day even “wackier” the children are going to have the option of visiting all three of our classrooms. It is going to be a wacky good time.
To celebrate this Lenten season we will be attending church Wednesday, March 6th for Ash Wednesday. The morning class will attend a prayer service with the kindergarteners and the afternoon class will attend a prayer service. Both classes will receive ashes. You are welcome to join us; morning mass is at 10:30 and the afternoon prayer service is at 1:00.
Next week will be our 7th annual spring book fair. If you are able to help out with this event please let me know. The children will have their preview day on Monday, March 4th and then they fill their orders on Wednesday, March 6th. We will also be having pastries with parents again on Monday, March 4th at 8:15.
Book orders are due Thursday, March 7th. There are some great books for Easter.
Just a reminder if you have not filled out your kindergarten registration and turned it in please do so as soon as possible as spots are filling up fast. If you have not registered for kindergarten you will not be able to schedule a screening time. If you have questions or concerns about your child entering kindergarten please let me know as soon as possible so we can make an appointment to discuss your concerns. Thank you!
Hope spring comes quickly and stays for a little while.

Dear Parents,
I’m guessing that you are just as frustrated as I am with these delays and cancelations. The next two days aren’t looking good either. It’s hard enough to get everything done in 2 ½ hours let alone 2. The kids have been outstanding during these crazy days.
Just a reminder that Friday, February 8th is our Father’s Day Celebration. Please join us at 9:00 for BOTH CLASSES for some Father’s Day fun.
With all of these delays and snow days that we have had my lesson plans have really suffered trying to get everything in. For our Valentine’s Day your child will need a decorated cereal box for Thursday, the 14th. If you would like your child to hand out Valentine’s please have them sign their names and DO NOT put friend’s names on them. That makes “mailing” them go a lot faster. Also on the 14th will be our Q & U wedding. Please join us for the fun at 10:00 for the morning class and 1:30 for the afternoon class.
Friday, February 15th NO SCHOOL.
Attached to this paper is a rhyming paper for you to do with your child. We will be doing assessments on rhyming next week. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Have a great weekend!
